Comments: Officially named after the famous scholar Clusius, this elegant tulip has been called "Lady Tulip" in England since the 17th century for its elegance. Virtually white flowers with pink and black on the outside. Carolus Clusius, actually Charles de l'Écluse, lived in the 16th century in the Southern Netherlands, Paris, Vienna and eventually Leiden. He was an influential botanist and was, among other things, involved in introducing the tulip to the Netherlands.
