Comments:
This in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan occurring tulip was named by botanist Eduard August von Regel after his son Johann Albert in the 19th century. His son, also a botanist, was with him during the discovery. The small plant, about 20 cm tall, grows solitary and produces red-orange or yellow flowers whose petals, which always have a prominent dark spot at the base, have three curving inwards and three curving outwards.
