Distribution: E Turkey to Sinai, W Iran
Comments: The desert tulip is found in the arid regions of the Middle East. It is completely adapted to life in the desert. If it remains too dry, it will only make leaves that year, or not sprout at all. The waves in the leaves make the leaf stronger. Medicinal properties are attributed to the tulip and it is said to work against infections.
