Crocus puringii

.
.
Family: Iridaceae (Irisfamilie)
Distribution: Oekraïne: Krim
Comments: This species, found only in the Crimea, was only recently (1999) described as a separate species. The large veined flowers indicated that it was not a subspecies of another crocus but a true wild species. The species was named after the Leiden botanist N.J. Puring.
