Taxon

Tricyrtis ohsumiensis

Tricyrtis ohsumiensis
.
Family: Liliaceae (Leliefamilie)
Distribution: Japan to Alaska
Comments: An unusual autumn flowering plant. The shiny and pointed leaves are waxy and contain silvery spots. As these pointed leaves drape around the stem, the butter-yellow, red-speckled flowers are put on display, so to speak. This makes the plant look exotic.
