Comments: This yellow autumn flowering species is found around the Mediterranean. The genus is named after Count Kaspar Moritz von Sternberg, Austrian botanist(1761-1831). The plants have long been known: Possibly as "the lilies of the field" from the Bible. This daffodil has 6 stamens, a crocus 3.
