Welcome!
Are you wondering whether your favourite plant can be found in the Hortus? Or did you perhaps see an interesting plant yesterday but have forgotten its name?
On this page you can find information in several ways. You can use search by entering keywords below. Alternatively, you can explore the interactive map, browse the collection alphabetically, or choose one of the themed tours. To use the Garden Explorer while in the garden an internet connection is required.
The Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam holds a documented collection of around 6,000 living plants for the purposes of scientific research, conservation, education, and public display.
Please note: If a plant appears in the collection but has no location on the map, it is most likely kept in the nursery – an area of the garden that is not open to visitors.
